Procrusteanism
Procrusteansim! This word is derived from a Greek myth about a man who would invite people to his home to visit. They would sleep in the procrustean bed, but there was one condition! They had to fit the bed perfectly! If they were too long, he cut off their legs! If they were too short, he stretched them! We have molds for our loved too! We nag them and complain about them because they do not fit our mold! We woulkd be much hapier if we undstood that we are all fearfully and wonderfully made (created) and that each one of us is unique! We need to love our spouse, children, and our family members just as God created them to be and to stop trying to change them into what we want them to be!
